Stefka Subotinova story with Baba Vanga
Story told by Stefka Subotinova – famous Bulgarian folk singer.
In 1965 I and a colleague of mine decided to go and visit Baba Vanga in Petrich. At all costs I wanted to meet with her, because my life was at a crossroad, and I didn’t know what to do. I had one divorce and was about to make a new family. I had few very serious candidates for my future husbands, and I had a hard time choosing who should be the one.
We took the train to Petrich. Only my mother knew that I will be visiting Baba Vanga. I headed out with such a hope, so I made the decision to follow all advices that Baba Vanga gives me.
Once we got there, we went to check in at the hotel first. Initially we had the idea that there will be 6-7 people before us waiting to see Baba Vanga, so one night at the hotel should be enough. We reached the city square and we saw a lot of cars, carriages, motorcycles, bicycles… We asked one man if this is the city marketplace. He laughed and said: – No this is not a marketplace – all of these people are waiting to see Baba Vanga!
Once my colleague – Valkana, heard that, she asked me to go back home as it’s pointless to wait so much just to see Baba Vanga for few mintues. I was firm – I wasn’t leaving Petrich until I see Baba Vanga and ask her about my life dilemmas.
