Story about Baba Vanga told by Boris Godzhunov – very famous Bulgarian pop singer during Communistic Bulgaria in the 70-90-ties.
In 1967 we had a concert in the town of Petrich with the Chalashkanov orchestra. After the concert at the took place at the local community center, a woman approached me and said that her name is Lyubka – the sister of Baba Vanga. Once I heard that I mentioned that I would love to go and see Baba Vanga one day. Lyubka suggested that I should go tomorrow morning in front of Baba Vanga’s house. When I got there, there were a lot of people already waiting to see her. Suddently Lyubka came out of the house and called me to come in. It probably that wasn’t exactly the case because Baba Vanga told right away – “How did you get in here”? I felt really bad and didn’t know what to answer. She did find out that I jumped the queue and she scolded me. Her sister made me sign to not answer and just to be quiet. Out of no where Baba Vanga ask me: “Why did you quite musical conservatory?” I had completed my third year and then quit the institute. Baba Vanga insisted that I should finish my program. She told me other things as well that I vaguely remember, by on my way out she stressed “don’t take off your glasses”. I told her that I don’t wear any glasses. She repeated few times that I wear glasses. Years later I found out that Baba Vanga meant the glasses of optimism that I was always wearing despite everything that I’ve been through.
In 1971 I went through a disastrous accident for which I was warned by Baba Vanga 2 weeks before it happened in a very strange way. I did dream an old woman with very white face without eyes. This was a personification of Baba Vanga. So in my dream she told me never to get on a plane if we are to travel 13 people. I woke up from this nightmare all shivering. On the next day me and my orchestra had to travel to Varna to participate at a big event on the occasion of the student day – big celebration in Bulgaria that takes place on December 8th. When I went to the airport I told my colleagues about my nightmare, and firmly said that I won’t travel with them. One of my colleagues told me that two people from the orchestra went to Varna the previous day on a train – so we are not 13 people travelling. We eventually travelled both ways with no incidents, so I started to forget my dream, as I thought that it was just a bad nightmare and nothing else.
On December 21, 1971 a big group was about to travel to Algeria on the occasion of the Bulgarian culture days in Algeria. We were about 70 people to travel – where me and my orchestra were exactly 13 people. Before getting on the plane of my colleagues told me that we just got our contracts signed for a 6 month work in Germany, so right after we get back from Algeria, we’ll be leaving for Germany. I was really excited when I heard the good news. Initially my assigned place was somewhere at the front of the plane, but I decided to sit with few of my colleagues at the very back – had few Bulgarian delicatessen (unique Bulgarian salami) in my pocket, so I wanted to share those with my colleagues and so we can have a drink and a toast for our new work in Germany.
So the plane started to accelerate and then gradually it took off, and at about 40 meters off the ground at the end of the runway and made a sharp left turn and crushed with its nose on the ground. I don’t have any words to describe my whole nightmare that I lived at that plane on this day. It was a miracle that I was alive. At the front of the plane 35 people died on the scene – this is where I was supposed to be sitting. This is where our famous Bulgarian singer Pasha Hristova died.
Few days after that tragedy I remembered my dream and the warning that Baba Vanga gave me.
For a very long time I couldn’t recover psychology from that tragic accident. That is why I decided to visit Baba Vana again. From the door she started: “Oh how scared you are…but try to calm down, the accident is in the past already. You will get better, but stay away from water. I was puzzled and was wondering what that all means. I am a very good swimmer and I had no fear from water. Then 11 years later I understood that Baba Vanga was implying – as a result of the great stress that I received after the accident, I developed diabetes – a disease that requires the drinking of a lot of water.
In 1978 I went through a very tough divorce with my wife Emilia. Even though she caused so much pain for me and for my child, I still couldn’t get her out of my head. This was slowly killing me. I even started to have thoughts for suicide. That is why I went to Baba Vanga one more time. Once again in her style – right after I stepped in the room she directly said: “why do you want commit suicide”. I was astounded. These were thoughts that I never spoke out loud to anybody. Then she went on: “I will help you to take off those destructive thoughts off your head. Go home and bring me one glass for water and one ring.”
I went back to Sofia, took the stuff that Baba Vanga requested and brought them back to her. She held the items for a couple of minutes and she was whispering something over them. Then she told me to take the glass back home and if Emilia comes, to give her water with that glass. Regarding the ring, she told me to put it in a specific place in her apartment. When I was leaving Baba Vanga’s house she told me that in 1 month I will be relieved from my mental burden and will meet a woman that will be the sun in my life for the rest of my days. This is exactly what happened – all what Baba Vanga said and predicted came true! This is a confession that I make public for the very first time. My new wife didn’t know about those predictions of Baba Vanga, and hope she doesn’t get mad that I didn’t tell her until now…
For me Baba Vanga continues to be alive even after her physical death. When I have personal problems I talk to her in my dreams, and strictly follow everything that she tells me while dreaming. I am a firm believer that she continues to help me for everything even today.
