Shoulder dislocation
Shoulder dislocation is fixed in a hospital by a doctor orthopedist or surgeon. If you have to take the injured person to hospital, you should put a pillow under his/her arm.
In order to reduce the pain, it is good to put on the ailing place a warm poultice of parsley or a warm poultice of wine and the soft part of a slice of bread, or a bag of warm boiled barley, or one of the means mentioned above for dislocation.
After the joint is fixed, you should have a hot bath with hayseed, walnut leaves and sea salt (39-40°С for 15-30 minutes). After that you should put oilcloth on the injured shoulder.
Dislocation of the arm and wrist, the hip joint, the knee joint and the foot are fixed by an orthopedist- traumatologist or a surgeon.
After the wrist is fixed, do the same procedures like with the other dislocation.
How to deal with foot dislocation
Signs: the leg swells around the ankle due to stretching the tendons. Dislocation should be treated by an orthopedist- traumatologist or a surgeon.
First aid: traditional medicine cures the vertebral bones of the foot in the following way: the injured person holds the shoulders of a person in front of them and the person in front carefully steps on the foot of the injured person with a bare heel. Then quickly bends forward and thus pulls the body of the injured person up. The dislocated bones fix by themselves.
The second way practiced by traditional medicine is every day to roll a corn cob with the injured foot for an hour of two, irrespective of the pain, until the pain is subdued. You can also do all the procedures mentioned above for dislocation but the best cure in this case is either a cool poultice with onions and salt or a warm poultice of bran boiled in vinegar. After the foot is fixed, you should keep it from another dislocation by fixing it in splints made of oilcloth and thin sticks. When the pains disappear, remove the splints and keep only the oilcloth on the foot.
Dislocation of the mandible
Treatment should be conducted by a doctor specialist.
In traditional medicine dislocation of the mandible is fixed in the following way: a person stands behind the injured person. His/her head touches the lower part of the chest of the person in front. The person puts his/her both thumbs wrapped in clean handkerchiefs in the mouth of the injured person as far back inside. With the other fingers he/she holds the mandible from outside and from down. He/she presses his/her thumbs down and with his/her fingers lifts the mandible until it comes to its place
Heavy old dislocations
Traditional medicine can treat old dislocations quite successfully in the following way: take 100 g of rosin, 50 g of white fir pine resin, 300 g of mutton fat (from inside the sheep) 50 g of pure yellow beeswax, 25 ml pure olive oil and 2 g of white incense.
How to prepare: in a pan first melt the mutton fat, then add the beeswax, the olive oil, the resin, the rosin, and the incense. Before you put the resin, the rosin and the incense in the pan, crush them; sift the rosin through a fine sieve so that all small particles in it, which cannot melt, should be removed. Stir the mix and let it boil for 10-15 minutes, and then remove from fire. Take half a meter of washed calico or tight sheeting and dip it in the pan; press it with a wooden spoon. When the material is well impregnated, stretch it and sprinkle it with chopped candy; fold it in 4 – 6 folds and dip it in the pan again so that the candy is fully absorbed. Take it out of the pan and put it to dry. It turns into oilcloth and is ready to bind your injured limb with.
How to use: cut a suitable piece of this oilcloth and warm it, then put it on the injured place. You can use the same oilcloth for seven days. You should bind the injured limb always in the morning and in the evening after steam compresses or a hot bath with wood ashes and sea salt (45°С for 15 minutes); after you bind the injured joint with the oilcloth, make belly compresses with a warm poultice of hayseed (36°С) or with water (26°С). Do not forget to lightly massage the injured joint with olive oil before you put the warm oilcloth. Once a week wash the injured place with warm water and soap.
If pimples and pustules appear because of the oilcloth, remove it for some time and put warm compresses with hayseed tea or milk compresses with fresh warm cottage cheeses on the inflamed places in the morning, at noon and in the evening, combined with belly compresses. After the pimples and pustules heal, put the oilcloth again.
Note.
- When you do not have mutton fat, you can replace it with non-saline lard.
- In cold weather, especially in winter, put cony on the oilcloth to protect the injured place from cold and pain.
