Grigor Velev About Baba Vanga

Story told by Dr. Grigor Velev – PhD in pathology

I saw Baba Vanga for the first time in 1967. I was an assistant at ISUL (Institute for Specialization of New Doctors), and every month we went on business trips to different hospitals around the country to conduct consulting. In this year, we had to visit few hospitals in Blagoevgrad, and I was together with three other PhDs – Dr. Goranov, Dr. Sharankov, and Dr. Delizhanov (all deceased now). When we finished our work at about noon time, Dr. Sharankov said: – Let’s go and visit Baba Vanga to get a closer look at her phenomenon while conducting her séances. He called some friends of his from Petrich, and we all went.

Baba Vanga accepted us very cordially – she had a special affinity to doctors. We attended two of her séances as spectators. The first visitor was a man from Serbia. Directly from the door she told him: – Look, don’t be mad. What people are saying for your wife is not true. Look after your kids – you have a full house with children, and don’t pay attention to people’s stories.

When the man walked out her house, Dr. Sharankov asked what were people saying about his wife and Baba Vanga said: – His wife is a total slut  – there isn’t a man from the village that she hasn’t slept with. That’s why he came to ask. They have 5 children in the house…

– Why didn’t you tell him – asked Dr. Sharankov with a dose of curiosity.

– Do you know how crazy are the Serbians? He will go and behead her with his axe. Why should I tell him?

Then a woman in her 30-ties came in. Baba Vanga yelled at her: – I don’t want to read on you, I just don’t. The woman started to beg Baba Vanga to tell her at least if her man will come back.

– How do you expect him to come back to you, when you have raised you “tail” and went over the limit – shouted Baba Vanga.

– But I don’t have children as my husband is infertile, and I want one – said the woman

– If you want children – you should go and adopt one. Why do you discredit your husband so much by sleeping with other men?

When we witnessed those two cases, we went home. Years later, very good friends of my family invited us to visit them in Bansko (close to Petrich where Baba Vanga lives). They also offered me and my wife to visit Baba Vanga, as they were close friends with her and they can arrange the meeting.

When we went in front of her house in Petrich, without telling anybody who I am, what I do, I heard Baba Vanga saying: – the doctor and his wife may come in.

When we entered her house she said: – Hey doctor, I haven’t seen you in many years. Now you have a worry on your head that’s why you are coming.

– I don’t have any worries at the moment – I said quickly

– You do, you do – she insisted. – Please have a seat.

The worry that Baba Vanga referred was the upcoming defence of my PhD. But it happened so the numbers allowed for PhDs for this particular year was decreased – this is what most likely Baba Vanga saw.

– Don’t worry at all – you will have a very successful career and will accomplish much more than what you have initially expected. You are writing a book at the moment – don’t show it yet, as you have a lot of enemies out there.

I was preparing my second dissertation, so I asked Baba Vanga when to publish it. – Wait for at least 1 year, year and half and then go and publish it – everything will go on from there.

I eventually listened to her and postponed the publishing for two years. Then Baba Vanga had a contact with the spirit of my deceased father. She made a very accurate psychology description of my son who is named after my father. She said: – I see Peter – who is he?

– This is my father – I said

– He is very happy that your son that is having his name is so smart and hard working. You father is taking care of him and is protecting him from above.

My son had graduated the Medical school with distinction – he had A’s in all subjects.

Baba Vanga said that my son will also become very affluent. In the years of socialism it was hard to think that someone would get rich. Time has passed, the social system has changed and my son eventually prospered. He became the owner of a big pharmaceutical company in Bulgaria called Ecopharm.

Baba Vanga spoke with other spirits as well. She told about our daughter that she is very energetic, smiley, and a little wild girl. That was indeed true – we had some challenges with her especially in her teen years.

To my wife Baba Vanga said: – You have a very good man – he will give you the opportunities to travel the world.

This also happened – due to my work, we visited 24 countries and I always took my wife with me.

To me the prophetess simply said: – You have an outstanding life in front of you!

I wasn’t skeptical at all, while I was listening to Baba Vanga’s readings on my family. Whatever she said sounded reasonable and somewhat logical. Over the years, everything she said came true to the very last detail.

At the age of 40 I defended my dissertation and became associate professor. Five years later I became professor of Patholgy – the youngest professor in Medicine for my time.

Although there were some colleagues of mine that were sceptical and were denying Baba Vanga, I can’t say one bad word about her. Being a scientist I had mistrust to prophets, clairvoyants, and other paranormal events. But at the same time I can’t say nothing against the facts. Dr. Sharankov and Dr. Shipkovenski thought that Baba Vanga is an exceptional phenomenon. According to them, the sugar with its crystal structure was sending the information to Baba Vanga. The newest discoveries in the field of physics are confirming the conclusion that soul exists as a physical matter in the form of electromagnetic field. Through the sugar crystals, Baba Vanga is likely getting into contact with those electromagnetic fields, and manages to visualize separate episodes from the life of the dead.
