Story told by Konstantin Trenchovski
I only met Baba Vanga once, and that was because of a health problem. I had very acute pain in my elbow of my right hand. Nothing really helped – pills or other drugs that doctors prescribed me. I even sought the help of one of the most popular neurologist in Bulgaria, and he prescribed me a special ointment. I smeared it on my elbow, and my pain got even worse.
Back at those days, I was an avid atheist and only believed in science. But 4 months of severe pain, and after I tried all possible treatments of the modern medicine where pain did not go away – on the contrary it got worse, my last resort was to go and see Baba Vanga.
I went to her house early in the morning, and I started waiting. I was forth in line. Just 15 minutes after I came, and the line up got much bigger. At one moment Baba Vanga came out of her house and first she called a man from the end of the queue by saying: – Give way to this man that carries a bag, as his situation is urgent. His bus is in 10 minutes, and if he is late his people can commit a murder of an innocent man.
From the back line, a 40 year old man showed up, carrying a half-full bag. His face looked very pale and scared. With a great respect he stood up in front of Baba Vanga.
– Listen to me very carefully – started Baba Vanga without waiting. – You came here to ask me to tell you who killed your brother. You all think that he was killed by the bullies that you have at your village. It is not them, it’s not their sin. Last night he was in the pub and drunk a little too much. Then when he walked back, on the bridge that is over the river, he got very dizzy, and rolled down the hill hitting his head very hard in a stone. He lied there unconscious the whole night. I can see his wallet is still there and there is blood on it – you can go and still find it. In the morning, he woke up, and barely he managed to reach your front door. The door was locked and he couldn’t get in. He was very exhausted and he sat for a moment at the doorstep of your house. Once he sat there, he died shortly after. Now run back to catch your bus and tell your family what happened, because they will go out and kill somebody wrongfully.
The man’s face looked really encouraged, and he ran off instantaneously to catch the bus for his village.
The next visitor was an old woman from Yugoslavia. Baba Vanga told her that her daughter-in-law is finally pregnant, and she can be rest assured that she will give birth to a healthy and normal child. The old woman was so happy, and before she left she gave Baba Vanga a very beautiful table cloth which was homemade.

Next in line was one beautiful, well-dressed young woman. Baba Vanga didn’t allow her to get closer and told her:
– Stay there and don’t get closer to me, as you will make me angry and I won’t be able to accept more visitors for today. Stay there and later I will tell you what do you need. You came here to ask me to do a magic so that guy that made you pregnant in the woods, to take you for his wife. Just so you know, I don’t do magic, and I am not interested in this field at all. You should give birth and look after your child – he has nothing to do with your stupidity.
The young woman looked quite embarrassed, and quickly left the place.
Finally my turn has come.
Two meters away from Baba Vanga, with a smile she said: – Doctors don’t have a cure for your hand, but there are folk remedies for it. From me to remember– there are two types of diseases: those that need to be treated by doctors, and those that are only cured with national remedies.
I was shocked and speechless for at least 1 minute, and finally I managed to ask is there a folk remedy for my hand. – Aaa yes there is, there is. It will be an easy cure with pork lard and tar. Then she explained to me in details how to prepare the recipe, and how to make a bandage with it. Suddenly while she was telling me the recipe, she stared at me and told me to go inside so we can have a private talk.
I felt a little uncomfortable, and turned back to the other people waiting. Their facial expressions and nods told me that I should listen to Baba Vanga and should go inside.
We entered her room and I sat right across her. With a very friendly tone, Baba Vanga foretold my life’s future. Few times she repeated her statement about the diseases, and also told me to quit smoking at once.
She told me not to worry or prepare for the university exams, as I will be accepted without an exam. This is exactly what happened. Few months later there was a new Government policy stating that all officers that have ended their service will be accepted without exams at the universities and with the specialties they are interested in. Back then I was working at the Pirin mine, and I did submit a request to be transferred to the technical service bureau with the city council of Blagoevgrad. I had a promise that I will be transferred once my service with the mine ends. Baba Vanga accurately predicted that. She said that they will wait for me, but I will not go to work in Blagoevgrad, as this is not part of my destiny. I will wander between different jobs, but that is ok because this is for good.
Baba Vanga also told me that I was destined to serve God. She said that after many years of “wandering” I will become a famous developer and will go to Sofia. I was wondering how come from a construction technician, I will become a famous developer and will go all the way in Sofia. Over the years, it turned out that Baba Vanga was right again to the very last detail.
From the moment I met Baba Vanga, and started to believe in God. After all those predictions of her that became reality over the course of 18 years, I have become a firm believer of the existence of God, his son – Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, Mother Marry, and everything that was written in the holy books.
