Story told by Luben Boyadzhiev – an artist from Sofia
Back in 1946 I was hired as an artist teacher at a high school in the city of Petrich. Everything that I had heard about Baba Vanga at the time, seemed incredible to me. Not until one day, when I good friend of mine arranged me a meeting with her, I was completely convinced in her miracle skills to see everything about you and to foretell the future. At that time Baba Vanga was in her prime years – she was 35, a beautiful woman with very white face and blue eyes, with big forehead and light chestnut hair. This young woman was completely blind.
After our long conversation at her very well kept and clean room, she unexpectedly turned her face to me asked if I have a sugar cube in me. I said that I don’t have any, but she insisted saying that I got one in my pocket of my jacket.
I reached my pocket, and for my surprise I had a sugar cube indeed. I gave it to Baba Vanga, and she started to touch the sugar gently and at once she nodded her head a few times, and starred at the ceiling saying:
– There is a murdered man here!
– No, Vanga, this a sugar cube from another family – said my friend who was with us. – They have a murdered man there. I put it in Luben’s pocket without telling him.
– Ok, ok – now you be quiet and Luben – you listen – said Baba Vanga.
She started to say things that made me startled. She said that I came to Petrich recently – from Sofia. My parents were living in the city of Kyustendil and at the moment she was seeing our white house with its big yard, and also the public fountain nearby the house. She called my hometown – Bosilegrad that is 43 km from Kyusdendil (in Serbia), but at the age of 10 I went to study at a Bulgarian school. After 5 years my whole family came to Bulgaria. All of this was 100% true. Then she added:
– Oh just so you know you will be transferred to another school which will be bigger.
Just 1 year after I visited Baba Vanga, indeed I did go to a bigger school as a teacher at the School Institute of Kyustendil.
Many years passed, I got married and together with my family we went to live in Sofia. My older daughter got a fever with high temperature, when she was 14, and for months she couldn’t get better. I took her to very good specialists…they were giving her antibiotics but nothing really worked. They recommended me to take my daughter abroad, to try other treatments available.
My wife insisted to go and visit Baba Vanga first, before we go to any foreign country.
We visited Baba Vanga, and right in front of the yard door, where there was a big lineup of people, Baba Vanga turned to my wife and said:

– Are you coming for your daughter? Oh you already have passports issued. You will go to Prague, but it is useless – they won’t help your daughter. In one year, Dr. Bratanov from Sofia will help her.
This is exactly what happened! The 3 month treatment that my daughter received in Prague, did not give any results. She was maintaining 38 degree temperature all the time. In about a year, we recalled about Dr. Bratanov that Baba Vanga recommended. We found him, and we brought him home. He examined the child, and used his own thermometer to measure the body temperature – it turned out that it was normal. Then he said:
– From now on, don’t give her any medications or don’t measure her temperature constantly. – You are not sick my girl! Go and put on your celebration clothes, and tomorrow you go to school!
On his way out, Dr. Bratanov asked from where did we know about him? I said that it was Baba Vanga. – That is quite interesting – he said. – There were other patients that seek my help who were also sent by Baba Vanga to me, and I don’t even know her.
After the examination done by Dr. Bratanov, our daughter got healthy and energetic. And all this happened without any medications. Maybe the power of faith healing is what cured our child.
We will never forget the help of Baba Vanga – this phenomenal personality that we had the honour and privilege to meet.
Story Analysis
There are countless of cases when Baba Vanga is sending her visitors to specific doctors, saying their names and showing the hospitals they work in. For some people Baba Vanga used to explain that she receives this information from the spirits of dead people, who are relatives to the visitor. Neshka Robeva says that Baba Vanga told her sometimes she sends a person to a certain doctors, as “God has given him the gift to heal”. What is also interesting is the fact that Baba Vanga doesn’t personally know most of the doctors to whom she sends her visitors.
